Full-Time Assistant to the Borough Manager Opening

North Wales Borough has an opening for a full-time Assistant to the Borough Manager. The employee in this position is required to work weekdays from 8:00 to 4:30 (with a half-hour unpaid lunch) for a total of 40 hours per week. In addition, the employee is required to attend Council meetings and special events, as specified by the Borough Manager.

The employee is responsible for aiding the Borough Manager by carrying out special projects, supervising or coordinating specific programs, attending to administrative details, and other duties as assigned by the Borough Manager. Work requires the exercise of independent judgment and the application of considerable knowledge of municipal organization and programs in meeting a wide variety of work problems involving continual public, inter-governmental and inter-departmental relations.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, or a related field is preferred. Requires a minimum of one to two years of governmental administration. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also provided.

Part-Time Police Officers

North Wales Borough is currently accepting applications for part-time police officers. Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of the application and meet certain minimum requirements, including High School diploma or G.E.D., a valid driver’s license is required, and must have Act 120 Certification under MPOETC. North Wales Borough is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Positions are open until filled. The starting rate is $27.50 per hour.

Crossing Guard – North Wales Elementary School

This position is responsible for providing the safe movement of children to and from the school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and leading the children across the roadway or intersection. Must be available during the AM (8:30-9:30) and PM (3:30-4:30) school crossing shifts during the school year and be able pass all necessary background checks. The starting rate is $20.00 per shift.

Part-Time Public Works Laborer

Laborer is responsible for maintenance of the park system, storm sewer system and building maintenance. Other responsibilities include snow removal, assisting with Borough events and other tasks as assigned. Position involves lifting heavy objects, walking, and standing for long periods of time and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. 35 hours per week.
